Woodstock PawPawty
Or how we got the beads, tie-dye, and psychedelic outfits ready... for a good cause!
Once a month, hundreds of Twitter users and their pets get together online at organized parties called PawPawties. Anyone can join these gatherings by searching for the term #pawpawty and using the phrase #pawpawty when posting to let everyone know that they are part of the event. There is a dress code, so you have to update your avatar for the occasion.
The latest #pawpawty took place on August 28th and 29th, and the theme was Woodstock, in celebration of its 40th anniversary. But the real goal behind this event was raising funds for TEARS, The Emergency Animal Rescue Site — and it was a great success! We collectively managed to surpass the fundraising target, raising over $1300!
The Woodstock #pawpawty was our third one as active participants, and our first one as price donors. And it won't be the last! Sprinkled with music, quizzes and games, pawpawties are lots of fun. They are also a great opportunity for us all to make this world a better place by supporting shelters and rescue organizations across the United States and Canada. Plus, with a bit of chance, you can also win really neat prizes. Congratulations to @HellaHedgie, @CokieTheCat and @indikitty, winners of prizes from the Montreal Critters store!
Courtesy of @JavaTheCat, here's a souvenir from the Woodstock #pawpawty showcasing some of the participants. Can you spot the Montreal Critters avatar?

Looking forward to seeing you at the next event!
